INSPIRATION

Agnès Sandahl Gallery sits in the heart of the Vallaruris cité des potiers, a district that has attracted many famous artists including Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Jean Cocteau. The gallery boasts the last-standing wood fired kiln in this famed ceramicists' village, originally built in 1850.

Today, Agnès has opened this mythical studio and gallery to internationally-renowned contemporary artists and ceramists like Boncompain, Bria Bari, Bonnet, and Roger Capron, as well as housing the work of infamous Vallauris legends like Derval, Jouve, Portanier, Tobiasse and Picasso.

The artist's own unique style is characterised by clean and refined lines interpreted in earthenware, porcelain, glass, or the adoption of the classical regional style from the golden age of ceramics in Vallauris, depending on how inspiration strikes.
